Vlasta “Pat” Kirk

Vlasta “Pat” Kirk, age 84, of Martin, S.D., died on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip.

Vlasta Kirk was born September 7, 1938, to Joseph and Ruzena Buresh in western Bennet County. She spent her early years helping her parents on the farm north of Batesland. Being the youngest child, her mother said her dad spoiled her as much as he could through her younger years.

There, Vlasta enjoyed spending her time hand making draperies, porcelain dolls and also opened and operated a secondhand store.

Billy Joe and Vlasta acquired rental properties for their transition into retirement. After Billy Joe’s passing in 2017, she continued to manage their rental properties until April of 2021 when Vlasta moved to Philip SilverLeaf Assisted Living where she resided until her passing.
