Patsy Fisher

Patsy Fisher, born July 6, 1947 in Gordon, Nebraska, passed away on February 20, 2023 at her home in Gordon. Patsy is survived by her spouse, Gary Fisher, of many years, and their loving “fur babies.”

She graduated from Gordon High School in 1965, attended college in eastern Nebraska and worked many years as bookkeeper for several businesses in Gordon, including the Co-op. She owned and operated Schultz Western Wear for several years where she was involved in supporting the Chamber of Commerce and other activities.

Patsy and Gary moved to Batesland, SD where she became General Manager of Batesland Handi Stop. She quickly became involved in their community events and charity fund raisers. Patsy retired in 2009 and returned to Gordon where she continued to support her community. In Christmas seasons, she enjoyed volunteering for the Salvation Army raising money for those in need. Over the years and in nicer weather she volunteered her time to the Sheridan County Fair and Willow Festival. She was looking forward to donating additional service hours to the museum in Gordon.

Patsy was a devoted wife, terrific sister and fun Aunt. She leaves us all with great sadness but wonderful memories. During her lifetime, Patsy was a good, loyal friend who appreciated her friends more than they might ever know. She lovingly and willingly lent a helping hand to many people in the Batesland and Gordon communities. Over the years her interests changed from leisure time in the Black Hills, Schultz family activities and gardening to more time in Gordon with her fur babies and having coffee with her friends.

Patsy was the youngest child of Leonard and Sylvia Schultz of Batesland where she spent her childhood on the family farm and ranch. She is survived by her brother Marion (Dawn) Schultz of Batesland, SD, sister Carol (Rick) Meyer of Snohomish, WA, brother Ronald (Olivia) Schultz of Fort Collins, CO, and sister Leona (John) Hills of Buffalo Gap, SD. She leaves nieces Kimberly Kearns, Kari Meiers, Mari Pershall, Therese Birmingham, Ann Pershall, Nichol Schultz and nephews Rodney Schultz, Ryan Schultz, Russell Schultz, Auston Schultz, Dave Pershall and Dan Pershall who all enjoyed wonderful memories of time spent with their sister and their Aunt Patsy.

Patsy will be missed by so many who knew and loved her. Live on, Patsy in good health and in Peace with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The family suggests memorials to your local Food Bank to help your neighbors in need.
