Johnnie Raben

Johnnie Berdell Raben, 71, of Post, Texas passed away Monday, July 26, 2021. He was born August 18, 1949 to John Chester and Bernice (Wolff) Raben in Crawford, Neb.

John married Michele Mason on May 8, 1976, in Post. He enlisted in the U.S Army May 21, 1969, and served during the Vietnam War. John was honorably discharged on April 17, 1971. After the Army, he worked for many years as a Dozer Operator for H&M Dirt Contractor, Bills Welding, and was self-employed. John had amazing skills at operating equipment. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, building knives, wood work, but especially loved spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters Ami Garcia and husband Daniel, Comanche, Texas; Jonna McNeely and husband Colton, Tahoka; siblings Franklin Dee Raben, Michigan; Gaynold Willoughby and husband Tony, South Dakota; Linus Raben, South Dakota; grandchildren John Daniel Garcia, D’Namee Dyann Garcia, Kylie Michele McNeely, Averie Brooke McNeely; one great grand daughter on the way; sister-in-law Cindee Hanes, Post; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife Michele on November 23, 2017; his parents; and siblings Meredith Pauly and Thomas Raben.

Family will be receiving friends Wednesday, August 4, 2021, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. CDT at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Tahoka.

Services will be Thursday, August 5, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. CDT at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Tahoka with burial to follow at Terrance Cemetery in Post, Texas.
