New School building nears completion, Gym expected to be ready in three weeks

By Tim Huether

Jack Holden from Puetz Construction informed the Bennett County School Board at their Sept. 20 regular meeting that the new facility should be ready in about three weeks if everything falls into place.

Holden said the floor is done and looks good the bleacher crew comes in next week and those should be up by the end of next week. The floor is down in the fitness center and he said they should be able to use the gym by the first part of October.

Under public comment, David Hancock said he wanted to address the annual personnel salary and wage report. He said a salary for an individual on there shows a 45 percent pay raise from one year to the next with the person receiving $21,800 more than last year. He said he submitted a letter to the Booster about it and received no response from anyone at the school. He said he was told by Stacy Halverson during a phone conversation it is not a pay raise, it was re-structuring.
